Youth day Motto, 2020
Youth day, worldwide, is commemorated to recognize the efforts of the world’s youth in enhancing global societies. It is also used to promote ways to engage youth in becoming more actively involved in making a contribution to their communities, bearing in mind that the eventual faith of a nation, lies in the hands of the youth. They are the expectations of ages to come. They have to prepare their future because that’s where they’ll be living for the rest of their lives.
Youth! Symbolize, high vitality, energy, and soul, in getting things going, making them vivacious, confident, competent, valiant, in turn making them brilliantly decisive pursuing the attainable moving forward. They will only start ‘’LIVING’’ when they begin to have faith in themselves.
It is a fact of life that as time progresses, the youth of yesterday, age and become the leaders of tomorrow, in many different ways. This is, of course, an ongoing process. We can’t all be leaders, in high positions, but we can and should all be leaders in our own way. A great example is just by leading yourself as an individual on your journey, moving forward.
Some of us were born gifted, others can be trained and educated to lead. Both the gifted and the to be made leaders have to continuously keep up with times, in this ever, rapidly changing world of ours. We have to research, be innovative, and continuously challenge the status quo. Only then we are able to lead ourselves and those that surround us, into a life of success. Remember that for peace and success in the world, we have to start preparing our children, TODAY.
To be a leader is to be able to change someone else’s life for the better. This has to all start at the beginning, and the beginning is from the time you were born. The day you were born, you were given the power to create yourself, to do something unique and distinctive, bringing hope into our world. It all starts at home and home is where your parents have to devote time to LOVE (COMMUNICATE, UNDERSTAND, OFFER TRUST AND CREATE RESPECT) that child, that is going to become ‘’YOUTH’’ (youth are usually classified between the age of 16 and 25 years old). Youth usually identify with a particular mindset and that is why it’s important to guide them in the right direction from the cradle. We, as parents, have to be brutally honest in the upbringing of children. By doing this, they shall gain entry into the ‘’REAL WORLD’’
It’s the parent’s duty to identify that niche, forte, that gift, whatever it may be, that the child possesses and in turn follow through with it, in preparation for the future. Whatever is said and not said, done and not done, must always be followed with a justifiable, real reason, ‘’WHY IT IS SO’’. Continuous active participation is necessary. It’s in the minds of the youth, that we can change the destiny of the world. It is the well trained, fresh, young blood that is needed to move into the new world, easing the way forward for the older more stubborn generation, that doesn’t so easily adapt to change.
In our wonderful country, SOUTH AFRICA! Youth day (Soweto day June 16th, 1976) is celebrated every year to honour and pay tribute to the memory of the brave school children who lost their lives protesting against laws that made the Afrikaans language compulsory in black education, throughout the country, amongst other atrocities. The youth decided that ’’enough is enough’’ and not to surrender to circumstances, making decisions that in turn made them triumphant in their conquest. Of course at a cost but eventually, conquering freedom.
This day should be used to update us all, that when we don’t believe or agree with something that can be detrimental to our existence and we can justify our cause, we must arouse ourselves and pulverize our adversaries in any circumstance. This should not only apply to circumstances, such as this one but in all aspects of our daily lives while endeavoring to attain equality and justice.
REMEMBER THAT WE ARE ALL EQUAL. WE LIVE IN A FREE WORLD, A FREE COUNTRY AND OUR SOUL IS ALSO FREE, SO DON’T LET ANYONE TAKE YOUR DESERVED SHARE OF WHAT NATURE HAS SO DEARLY LAID OUT FOR US TO USE AS A PLATFORM ON OUR JOURNEY TO OUR DESTINY.
